The Name “Easter”
Did you know “Easter Sunday” was not celebrated by the early Christians? Did you know there is no reference to “Easter” anywhere in the Bible, neither in Greek nor Hebrew?
Surprisingly, the word “Easter” was inserted into the King James Version Bible (undetected) as a replacement for the word “Passover,” located in Acts 12:4, and never seen again throughout the entire Bible. Other Bibles do not even recognize the word Easter. If you take a look at the original Greek language in Acts 12:4, you will find that the Aramaic Hebrew word “pascha” is used, meaning “Passover” because the Greek had no name for “Passover.” And throughout the entire New Testament, the Aramaic Hebrew word “Pascha” is translated as “Passover.” Only in Acts 12:4 of the KJV is the Aramaic Hebrew word “Pascha” replaced by the word “Easter.” Why? and How?
NOTE:
Reputable episcopal historians recognize Easter and its traditions to be invented by pagan religions.
Easter, Passover, and Resurrection; are all the same, Right? NO! It is not.
WELL, WHAT DOES EASTER MEAN AND HOW DID IT ARRIVE?
According to ancient pagan religions, Easter, a.k.a. (Ishtar), (Ostara), or (Eastre) is recognized as the goddess of Spring; celebrated in relationship to re-birth, such as the blooming of flowers and trees. Researchers identified such celebrations dating back 2,000 years before Christ, where ancient Babylonians celebrated the resurrection of their mythical god, Tammuz, who was said to be brought back from the underworld by Ishtar (pronounced Easter). Ishtar, in relationship to Venus, is recognized as the goddess of fertility and renewed life, rising before the sun. In other pagan cultures, the bunny symbolized fertility with eggs symbolizing new life.
The development of Easter Day Celebrations evolved within the Christian World as an Annual Christian Holiday due to the infiltration of pagan traditions decorated with Christian-related belief patterns.
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
In Galatians 4:9, Paul asks a question to his converts, saying,
“But now after you have known God, or rather are
known by God, how is it that you turn again to the
weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire
again to be in bondage?”
Pagans, who were converted into Christians, no doubt had yearnings for their childhood celebrations. They needed a way to celebrate their pagan traditions without losing their Christian identity. But how do they accomplish it?
Below are some theoretical illustrations of how this might have happened.
CHRISTIAN LANGUAGE
1)–First, one must discover a way to integrate pagan traditions by simulating them into Christian language; Luring Christians into accepting traditions and harmonizing with pagan celebrations
SIMILARITY CONNECTIONS
2)–Since the mythical goddess, Ishtar is associated with the resurrection of a Babylonian god, it would be necessary to convince Christians to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ during the same time as the Easter celebration. By doing so, everyone could celebrate at the same time. The pagans can keep their Ishtar and the Christians can keep their Christ; However, Christians would have to overlook the true meaning and timing of the Passover while giving up the Title of the Day to Ishtar.
EASTER SUNDAY
3)–Since Ishtar is associated with Venus; anciently known as rising before the sun; It would be necessary to persuade Christians to celebrate Easter on a Sunday; a day named after the sun, the sun, which is anciently recognized as a god of light.
Note:
No other Holiday has such aggressive measures. But since Christ Jesus did rise on the first day of the week, Christians didn’t mind going along with this design.
EASTER BUNNY & EGGS
4)–To integrate the Easter bunny and Easter eggs into the Christian environment, you will probably need to translate the bunny as a sweet loving giver like Christ and the eggs as representations of the new birth; new life in Christ with bright painted colors representing happiness and bliss. Not to mention Christians having to overlook the fact that bunnies do not lay eggs.
NOTE:
There is nothing wrong with having fun and celebrating good times. The issue here is whether or not we are celebrating in Truth. So here are a few questions.
Is it right for the name of a mythical goddess to acquire more attention in the House of God than the God of the House?
Should the day of Christ’s Resurrection be named after the goddess of Spring?
Should a Bunny occupy any area of the Church?
Is our Lord Jesus Christ worthy of the Entire day, or should the Easter Bunny enjoy the most of it?
Wouldn’t it be better for Christians to celebrate the Passover and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ on one date while the world celebrates Easter on an entirely different date?🤔
Remember, Easter is not Christian originated, Easter is not Biblical, and Easter is not recorded as Holy before God.
If we, as Christians, are going to continue participating in traditional Easter Celebrations; neglecting to fully, respectfully, and honorably give attention to the Death(Suffering), Burial(Humiliation), and Resurrection(Eternal Victory) of our Lord Jesus Christ; we should do it with the full knowledge of the truth!

I never thought of it that way. Thank you for opening my eyes to the Christian truth. May God bless you
Thank you and bless you. The spirit in me has long been deeply grieved by this. It is a comfort to see it in print and know that I’m not alone in my conviction. We must put no other god before Him. Passover is necessary for Christians, if we partake not of His blood and His body, we have no part in Him. Thank you again and God bless you.
Outstanding!!! Resurrection Sunday sounds much better !!!
